Volunteer at the Learning Center

E-mail Print PDF

In addition to the core staff and tutors, each Learning Center is sustained by the many volunteers who undertake such essential tasks as running the reception desk, answering phones, typing, and helping organize local events to benefit the Center. We welcome your involvement in this exciting effort. To become a volunteer, please contact the director at your nearest Learning Center.

Proctor Program

The contact for that is William Irwin at 937-717-6445.

Tutor Training

The Center Program offers training toward certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Initial certification requires 45 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of practicum. The practicum includes tutoring children at our Center under the supervision of qualified professionals. The Center also provides training for advanced certification.  The initial session of this year’s training for tutor/scholars is July 7-11, 2008.  For more information click here.
